The view of one of our pastures from the top of the sledding hill…

I feel so blessed to live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.  I never grow tired of viewing these Rocky Mountains, especially early in the morning or like when these pictures were taken, at sunset.  It has been a very pleasant couple of past days, blue sky and sunshine, we don’t get many of these this time of year.  The mountains here are reflecting the brilliant sunset from the west.

Not much else going on here, just checking ewes and waiting for lambs (like watching/waiting for the pot to boil!) and trying to get healthy again.  Little Zayne is still not feeling well and is now having a reation to his anti-biotics.  His little face and back are covered in a rash, we’re praying he is feeling much better tomorrow.  I am not sure what it is about the last couple weeks of March and the first few weeks of April, but every year we are alwayssick right around this time!  We have not been sick since… I can’t even recall when…but at least early last fall.  It must all be catching up with us ;-(  On a good note though we should be in the 50’s tomorrow and 60’s by early next week!  YEAH!!!  Well it is almost 1:00 am, time for the last ewe check of the night (unless someone looks suspicious) until Mark checks them in the morning.  It’s a beautiful clear night out, and cold too!  Oh yeah the cayenne pepper seems to be doing the trick with Dugur.  I caught him trying to be sneaky and he started licking Ragna, working his way up to her horns and took a big lick and made a terrible face and immediately started eating snow!  I felt a little bad for my pup, but hopefully it will spare him learning some bad habits.

Another Day…

Not too much going on around here…we’re busy doing school and tyring to enjoy the last of winter.  We’ve had quite a few days here were the sun has been shining bright, making the doldrums of winter seem so much more bearable.  The last couple mornings we have had a bit of fog, which covers everything nicely in frost.

More frosty days...

The kids have been busy sledding and captured a great video of Hayden that I share as soon as I upload it off of Maddie’s camera.  We had another beautiful sunset last night with flocks of some type of bird moving through…

Another beautiful sunset...

Sledding

The kids sledding on a beautiful day.

The kids sledding on a beautiful day.

Back when the kids had decent snow to sled on, sledding was a daily thing that happened around here.  Lately we have had a lot of hard ice that is now covered by yesterdays 4 inches of snow, not the best to sled on if you crash alot!  Here are just a couple of pictures of sledding this year…
