Psa 30:1 ESV – A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of the temple. I will extol you, O LORD, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me.
Psa 30:2 ESV – O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.
Psa 30:3 ESV – O LORD, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.
Psa 30:4 ESV – Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.
Psa 30:5 ESV – For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Psa 30:6 ESV – As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
Psa 30:7 ESV – By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.
Psa 30:8 ESV – To you, O LORD, I cry, and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
Psa 30:9 ESV – “What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
Psa 30:10 ESV – Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me! O LORD, be my helper!”
Psa 30:11 ESV – You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; you have loosed my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
Psa 30:12 ESV – that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to you forever!

Scenic Sunday

How deep the Father’s love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
And make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Why should I gain from His reward
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

Pro 8:19 ESV – My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver.
Pro 8:20 ESV – I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice,
Pro 8:21 ESV – granting an inheritance to those who love me, and filling their treasuries.

Sunday Serenity

We’ve all been humming/singing this verse of this hymn today…

And can it be that I should gain
an interest in the Savior’s blood!
Died he for me? who caused his pain!
For me? who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Words: Charles Wesley, 1739

Sunday Serenity….

Crocus springing forth...

(Psa 40:1 KJV) – [[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.]] I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
(Psa 40:2 KJV) – He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.
(Psa 40:3 KJV) – And he hath put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise unto our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
(Psa 40:4 KJV) – Blessed [is] that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

(Psa 40:16 KJV) – Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
(Psa 40:17 KJV) – But I [am] poor and needy; [yet] the Lord thinketh upon me: thou [art] my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Sunday Serenity

(Rom 5:5 ESV) – …and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

(Rom 5:6 ESV) – For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

(Rom 5:7 ESV) – For one will scarcely die for a righteous person–though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–

(Rom 5:8 ESV) – but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Sunday Serenity

(1Jo 4:9 ESV) – In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.

(1Jo 4:10 ESV) – In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

(1Jo 4:11 ESV) – Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Sunday Serenity…

Two this week! ;0)

(1Ti 3:16 NKJV) – And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.

and I like this one from church last week…

(Phl 2:5 NKJV) – Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

(Phl 2:6 NKJV) – who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,

(Phl 2:7 NKJV) – but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, [and] coming in the likeness of men.

(Phl 2:8 NKJV) – And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to [the point of] death, even the death of the cross.

Tetons at sunset

(1Cr 13:4 ESV) – Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant

(1Cr 13:5 ESV) – or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

(1Cr 13:6 ESV) – it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

(1Cr 13:8 ESV) – Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

(Isa 48:16 NKJV) – “Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I [was] there. And now the Lord GOD and His Spirit Have sent Me.”

(Isa 48:17 NKJV) – Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I [am] the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
