Goings On…

Where does time go?  Seriously?  Anyway we have kept busy with lots of 4-H stuff this last month-which will be a post unto itself…  4-H food fairs, shooting sports, meetings and practice…all leaving me seriously tired! lol

I have also spent some time in and out of the hospital.  The first time with my very first ever migraine which they figure was induced because of my hormonal, pregnant state and has left me with a greater appreciation for when Mark has one of his many migraines.   The second time I was able to spend the evening in Labor and Delivery due to cramping/contracting issues last week.  I am now 50 % effaced with a soft to moderate cervix, but no dilation-yay!  (Thanks Peggy Sue for keeping me company until Mark was able to get there and thanks for everyone’s prayers, they’re greatly appreciated!)  So now I am supposed to be prisoner to the couch and  take it easy…eat bon-bons all day I guess.  Mark has had to be gone a bit too-all adding to the fun!  But other than that things are going well here.

The other day the boys found a monstrously-huge egg and teeny-tiny one…

Garrett with the eggs...

The huge egg is easily the biggest egg we have ever had and the tiny one wasn’t even the size of a ping-pong ball.  Both Hayden and Garrett had to eat them for breakfast, so we cracked them open and the boys were a bit disappointed to have the huge one only be a single yolker but thought the tiny one was too funny as the yolk wasn’t even as big as my pinky!

Hope all is well where you are.

Bouncing ….

Last night's winter sunset

Hopefully back!  Finally at 17 weeks pregnant I think I am finally turning the corner to feeling better.  The pit that was in the bottom of my stomach has finally left and I no longer feel like I need to sleep every waking hour of the day!  I have always just bounced back at about 13 weeks so for me the extra month being sick was somewhat discouraging and I was afraid I might feel this way for the entire pregnancy.  For the last few weeks I have also been able to feel little flutters and kicks of this new person inside of me, which is always so exciting and makes everything so much more bearable.  Next week I start my weekly progesterone shots to help ward off PROM (premature rupture of membranes) and I will be about my half way point since I seem to deliver a bit early each time.  I can’t believe how fast it all seems to be going by, but October and November were pretty much a fog to me so maybe that’s why it seem so fleeting?  I can hardly believe that Christmas is only 2 weeks away!

This week has been spent shoveling out of “two months of mom not feeling good” and getting back into a normal schedule (whatever that is or was) and a getting a good deep clean on the house.  We were even blessed by a sweet lady from church dropping by and delivering a wonderful beef stew with rolls and cookies.  The best part was that she surprised me with a beautiful shawl that she had croshayed from our sheep’s yarn!  It is really gorgeous and I feel very spoiled!  I will get a picture of it up sometime soon.

Sawyer picked up his fair steer for this coming year-he’s a bit wild and they had quite the time getting him to the scale for weigh in Saturday.  But everyone lived and he is settling in quite nice now.

That’s about all that has been happening around here, other than trying to stay warm!  Hope your week is going well!

We’re Still Here…

Sort of…  We all survived H1N1 with only Mark and Tori getting sick and Maddie only having a bit of a cough and fever while the rest of us took our Tamiflu and never suffered.  I am still feeling very yucky and am hoping the next couple of weeks pass by rather quickly.  I generally start to feel better around the 13 week mark and get back to my usually self.  Right now I feel as if I can’t get enough sleep and am very nauseated…but life does not slow down with a household of seven monkeys.  It is very helpful though  to have young adults in the house this time around as they help out tremendously.

Last Saturday we were able to get up to the ranch and do a bit of hunting and bring home a load of firewood.  We only seen a handful of does, which is really unusual for up there.  I guess on Friday though two wolves were spotted passing through, so we kept our eyes open for them too since both Sawyer and Mark have wolf tags.  I spent most the day in the pickup napping! ;0)  The day was a mix of rain and sun and even a mixture of the two.  The larch right now are absolutely beautiful, I wish I would have taken some more pictures but somehow even that right now doesn’t even sound like fun. I did take this one though…

hunting

On Monday I met with one of my new OB’s and listened to baby’s heartbeat…a nice 170 bpm (maybe this one will be a girl).  We also discussed the possibility of a VBA3C, which she sounded open to.  She is going to get my other records and we will discuss it more in detail at my next appointment.  At 16 weeks I will start my weekly round of progesterone shots to help stop PROM which I had with Hayden, this practice will let me bring the progesterone home where Mark or my mom can give me the shots!  That ought to be exciting!  Everything else seemed to look good.

Now we are just trying to make it through the week.  Hope yours is good.

Addition # 8 should make his or her appearance next May!

And a huge heartfelt thanks to the Miller, Dunham, and Rickel Families for the wonderful and delicious suppers this week while we’ve been under the weather!  It has been a relief to just get better and not have to worry about what to make for supper.  Thanks!
