In Many Glacier we are often blessed to be able to watch moose do their own thing. We get to watch them graze the bottoms of lake beds and watch them bring their baby calves down to explore…

To our new friends the Anderson’s from North Carolina whom we met while taking pictures of this beautiful moose. She knew who I was and that I was the author of this blog. Blew my mind away! 🙂 We had a great time visiting with them and then when we ran into them at St. Mary’s Lodge we had a wonderful supper together. Later that week they visited our farm, family and sheep. Wonderful people! You’ll never know who you’ll meet in the middle of no-where.

We ran into this guy…
I mean, we really about ran into him. The trail went right beside him and it was very steep and bushy, no way to go up higher to get around him. Moose scare me a bit more than bears. Thankfully, it was not a mama with a calf. We all scurried quickly and quietly past this guy (9 kids along with my husband, my folks and myself) . The little kids kept on going up the trail while a few of us stayed behind and definitely kept our distance from him and took a couple of quick shots…
Not a very good picture above but I love the duck swimming next to him!
These closer ones were taken first and the more distant ones where taken later from across the lake.
On our recent trip to Waterton, Alberta we were lucky enough to spot this guy two separate times…
On our recent trip to Glacier National Park we actually saw a moose! Having lived in this area all my life, it is actually the first moose I have seen in the park…
Of course we spotted her on a busy corner that had no pull-offs so we were only able to shoot a couple of pictures. But it was really exciting, especially because the kids spotted her first!
Then later in the day we spotted two more moose way off on a hillside!
And then from the same spot we spied two bears on another slope!
It was so much fun watching these two chase after one another.
It was also very neat to be able to keep tabs on the moose from the same vantage point!
