It’s a Small World…

To our new friends the Anderson’s from North Carolina whom we met while taking pictures of this beautiful moose.  She knew who I was and that I was the author of this blog.  Blew my mind away!  🙂  We had a great time visiting with them and then when we ran into them at St. Mary’s Lodge we had a wonderful supper together.  Later that week they visited our farm, family and sheep.  Wonderful people!  You’ll never know who you’ll meet in the middle of no-where.IMG_2505-Edit

A Morning Camping…

While camping in Grand Tetons, we were able to see this mighty Bull Moose, I’ve posted other pics of him here…

Before spotting him though, Mark and I were outside, blissfully enjoying our first cup of hot coffee for the morning,  It was one of the more cool mornings we had at Gros Ventre campground.  A car stopped beside our trailer and parked on the road.  It was a bit strange because the road was closed just a bit down the road.  The guy finally got out with his camera and gear, which perked my interest!  We grabbed our camera’s and woke up our oldest and let her know we were going on a walk.  In just a couple of steps up and out of campsite and to the other side of the road we could see what made the other guy stop…

What we thought were two mule deer bucks, ended up being three!

1We hung out for a while there and noticed another guy walking right past the deer, with a huge camera.  We decided to follow him just a little ways which led to…

This is what we came back to at the campsite…

Moose and Bears, oh my…

On our recent trip to Glacier National Park we actually saw a moose!  Having lived in this area all my life, it is actually the first moose I have seen in the park…

Of course we spotted her on a busy corner that had no pull-offs so we were only able to shoot a couple of pictures.  But it was really exciting, especially because the kids spotted her first!

Then later in the day we spotted two more moose way off on a hillside!

And then from the same spot we spied two bears on another slope!

It was so much fun watching these two chase after one another.

It was also very neat to be able to keep tabs on the moose from the same vantage point!
