Gone Fishing.

Teigen *loves* to fish! Teigen is barely 6 years old but would spend all day ice fishing or casting his pole out into a mud puddle if he suspected fish could inhabit it. ¬†He spent all Tuesday, pestering anyone who would listen to him about when we would get to go fishing. ¬†We tried to get to the fishing hole that night but we ended up working sheep until it was dark. ¬†Mark was suppose to head over to the east side of the state to do some work on Wednesday but was feeling bad that we didn’t make it fishing. ¬† So instead of leaving for work Wednesday evening, he stopped and picked up a picnic supper and called and told us to meet him at the fishing spot. ¬†We spent the evening eating, laughing and untangling knots until dark.

We had such a great evening!  Mark ended up leaving at 4 am to make it to where he was headed and is a bit tired tonight but says it was definitely worth it.

Fishing Nights…

This summer we were fortunate enough to get out a couple of evenings to do a little fishing at Pine Grove Pond…

Pine Grove Pond was donated by generous Street family for families to enjoy, each child under 16 is allowed to keep one fish each day.  Here Mark is helping to untangle a line while Mr. Robin Street looks on.

What a wonderful gift!  We had  a delightful time and made some great memories and hope to make more soon.

Down to the River…

On Saturday, Sawyer¬†went down to the river to see what the fish were up to.¬† He returned about 10 minutes later in search of some dry flies because the fish were rising.¬† The trip to the river on the east side of the property takes a little going to get to.¬† The hill is long and very steep and¬†filled with lots of brush and downed trees, but once safely down it’s really¬†very pretty.¬† The Oregon¬†Grape is in full bloom along with Lily of the Valley and some¬†wild Violas.¬† For Mother’s Day Sawyer collected some Narcissus that was growing wild along the bank.¬† My camera battery was on the blink of being dead but I did get a couple of shots taken…
