Gorgeous Winter Sunset…
My husband and I went for a walk the other night, the drive-way had de-iced and there was very little mud. We walked a couple of miles and headed home and we were rewarded with this wonderful sunset…
Just starting to get some good color…
Starting to ebb…

Lambing…
We had a surprise lambing while we were gone on our trip over the weekend…
She was even born on Valentine’s Day…and it’s the letter “H”‘s year for naming lambs…so we couldn’t resist naming this little girl Heart!
The mama is one of our Suffolk ewes and daddy, we are thinking is one of our Icelandic rams! An unknown breeding must have happened before we separated our sheep last fall.
But she’s awfully sweet and like the looks of her. 🙂
We were glad that our older kids were at home. When they went out to feed in the afternoon she was dried off and had a full tummy. 🙂 Thank goodness she is half Icelandic to give her some vigor.
Does this mean that Spring is here officially?

Watching Wolves…
On Sunday my husband and I had the opportunity to go on a snow coach, whose name was Rosebud, through Yellowstone Park. We have been through Yellowstone many times throughout other times of the year but never winter. We love going to Yellowstone, and the winter version did not disappoint! Seeing everything under a blanket of snow was truly beautiful. We seen abundant wildlife and had a wonderful tour guide. We used Alpen Guides based in West Yellowstone, their classic snow coaches were too cool! The oldest snow coach there has been in service since 1953….
Like I mentioned above, we were able to see abundant wildlife but the coolest of the two critters we saw were very far away. Luckily, there were spotting scopes available to look at them close up. The first critter was a male grizzly, out of hibernation in February which is very rare. He is very groggy here and a taking a nap under a tree, you probably have to use your imagination to see him here but really he is there! lol…
Two wolves sunning themselves on a distant hill. You might be able to see the whiter wolf if you squint your eyes real hard, the second one is off to the right in a bit of a hole… I had major lens envy with the people there and their huge prime lenses! lol!
We seen a lot of other critters that I’ll share later!

Sleigh Ride…
About two weeks ago we were able to get together my husband’s side of the family and go on a sleigh ride…
The kids got to do some sledding…
And warmed up with some hot cocoa and hot apple cider. We also had a yummy lunch of chili, cornbread and cookies.
We had a wonderful day filled with lots sun, giggles and laughter. Unfortunately, the next day our family started to come down with influenza type A … yuck! It knocked us out of commission for a couple of weeks. I think we are all the mend now though… 🙂
