Moose and Bears, oh my…

On our recent trip to Glacier National Park we actually saw a moose!  Having lived in this area all my life, it is actually the first moose I have seen in the park…

Of course we spotted her on a busy corner that had no pull-offs so we were only able to shoot a couple of pictures.  But it was really exciting, especially because the kids spotted her first!

Then later in the day we spotted two more moose way off on a hillside!

And then from the same spot we spied two bears on another slope!

It was so much fun watching these two chase after one another.

It was also very neat to be able to keep tabs on the moose from the same vantage point!

That would be exciting to see! The only bears I see are at the zoo, which is okay with me actually. I don’t believe I ever saw a real moose though!

Moose and bear from the same spot…what a find! Thanks for the great photos.

  5. You live in such a beautiful area to see wildlife. How exciting for the kids.. so much better than the local zoo that most of us have.. I think I read that moose can be cranky because of their eye sight or maybe that is some other animal. No moose must have decent eye sight..I will have to look that up…Michelle

What fun it would have been to watch those bears! I’ve seen a couple moose, and find it interesting that in some ways they are as dangerous as the bears if you get too close! Glad you had a safe and fun trip!
