The Arrival of Spring!

It’s official!  Spring has sprung here at Dancing Aspens Farm.  Elizabeth, Maddie’s ewe, lambed unassisted in the wee hours of the morning to a healthy little ewe lamb.

She was very wet and starting to get a bit cold and was having some trouble getting latched on, so we jugged them and got baby Spring dried off.

This ewe is a bit crazy and wild but she stood perfectly still for little Spring to nurse.  I ended up milking out some colostrum and syringe fed Spring a bit.  Once she had a bit in her tummy she was ready to go on her own.P3100596

A couple hours later, all settled in!
