Crazy Polka-dots…

We sure do enjoy watching these little Downy Woodpeckers.

This guy was busy checking over the tree for bits to eat and didn’t seem too bothered by me taking his picture.

On another bird note, the last couple mornings I have been hearing Killdeer singing their song.  One of the earliest signs that spring is on it’s way!

Great shots of the Downy Woodie! They are one of my favorite backyard visitors.

Great set of pictures – there are no woodpeckers of any sort in Australia and I miss them. Nice to see these!

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Love these pics. I like how you caught the detail of the unkept white feathers on his back. We have a Hairy Woodpecker around occasionally. I’m not sure I’ve seen a Downy Woodpecker… but I’m going to keep lookin’.

This is one of our favorite woodpeckers. They always seem so “petite”! Very nice images!
