This and That…

Another rainy cool day...

We’re starting to feel the fair time crunch!  Tomorrow lambs and fleeces have to be in and judging starts at 8 am Sunday, so the kids are fervently working to finish skirting  their fleeces.  All big animals will be needing to go in Sunday and will be weighed throughout the day on Monday.

We have a lot of new projects this year that is adding to the fair time stress.  The kids will be showing their own Icelandic lambs in the fiber competionand entering some of last falls fleeces for the first time this year.  Sawyer will be showing a steer and Tori her lamb which are also firsts here.  We are trying to take everything with a grain of salt and look at it as a “learning experience”!

In other happenings around here, while moving the chicken tractor that holds the baby chicks I notices how grown up and pretty the new little hens are looking.  I think the last picture I took of them was here when they were still little balls of fluff.  I really hate the juvenile stage where their growing and molting and funny looking but now their more into their adult looking stage.

I love the green sheen of this Astroplorp.

While taking pictures of the chickens I took one of Garrett standing next to the corn, it simply amazes me how tall it is getting!

The corn is over Mark's 6 foot head and way over Garrett's.
