The children helping in the garden...
Our days around here start with the kids feeding and watering their animals, then feeding themselves, followed by another trip up to the barn to work their fair animals. Some days that turns into a real rodeo and can take up a better part of the morning, other days the animals cooperate and then we get to work in the garden. They generally start by picking strawberries that will be frozen later on in the day and then they each have a row or two to weed depending on what it is they are weeding.

The kids decided to use flats that flowers are held together in to put their weeds in. Once that is full they dump it in the chicken pen where the hens will scratch through it looking for bugs and other edibles.
