Transformation~Reuse of a calf shed…

This Spring we were able to pick up three nice calf sheds for an incredible deal~Thanks Norm!  We are using 2 of them as shelters for the sheep.  They have skids on the bottom and can be moved fairly easily with the tractor from paddock to paddock and provide ample shade for the critters.  The third one Mark converted into a chicken coop.  We have a pair of pesky foxes that have been dining on chicken on and off for a couple of months and the chicken tractor  is not any where close to being big enough for all the chickens, ducks and geese anymore.  So we are now using the chicken tractor as a brooder house for Puffy Buffy and our new batch of chicks…

(See the chicken food beside her, Garrett was worried she wasn’t eating enough so he put some food right beside her ;0)  )

We still need to give everything a good coat of paint and put some finishing touches on the nesting boxes but everyone seems content in their new home.  Now we are awaiting some poultry electric netting that will allow them some more freedom and will let free range a little more safely.
