Mush…

A couple of weekends ago, our family was given the opportunity to go dog sledding!   It was Papa’s gift to our family for Christmas.   We weren’t sure exactly what to expect.

When we woke up that morning, we had quite the snow storm hitting us and we were wondering if we would even make it out for the day.  Then a little bit after noon the clouds cleared out and sun started to shine!IMG_7247

It was about a 45 minute ride to the snow belt of Olney, MT.  Here’s the crew!

Poor  boy, he had to get a bit of a nap in.

Finally to our destination!!IMG_7261

Just a couple of the dogs.  They have about 150 sled dogs that get used daily during the season!  They were all very excited to be heading out so they were making lots of noise.

This sign made me laugh!

IMG_7268 They had 4 separate sleds out and ready to  go to accommodate us.  Each sled had 40 paw power!  The sleds were quite comfortable and included a heavy blanket and an elk hide to snuggle in.

One of the first sleds used here, hand-made!

We had such a fun time!  We could tell the dogs really loved their work.  The scenery was beautiful and it was a wonderful hour spent snuggled next to my hubby.

Thanks Papa for the wonderful time!
