Over at No Winter Whining, they are wondering what our favorite thing about winter is? There are so many things we love about winter here. Sledding, wood fires, hot meals, coffee and cocoa, warm blankets, snuggling with my kids. The farm is somewhat easier to manage in some ways, parasite problems are almost non-existent and our Icelandic sheep love the cooler temperatures and the snow and we don’t have to worry about them over-heating. The sheep just kinda hang out in the main paddock and are served round bales, laze around and gestate. But one of the things that almost will always take my breath away is watching the sun come up or go down with our scenic back drop. Especially on clear days, which we have been blessed with several this past winter…

These photos are breath taking! I once read a book that called God “Earth Maker”. I like to think of Him as Sky Painter. -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
If I had views like that, I would aporeciate winter A LOT more! And you’re right– I should have mentioned no bugs in winter on my post!
